Faux Fur.

So i dug out my old primark leather coat & decided it needed a makeover.

My local hobby craft supplied me with some shearling fur for two pound fifty and i started sewing to create a shearling leather jacket.

Something as simple as fur can update & create a completely different leather jacket on a budget.

Camel is back!

The 'it' coat for this season is flooding the high streets in all shapes and sizes in what seems to be the new black...

The A/W camel fashion trend is one of the hottest and most versatile trends this season.  Camel is a colour that defines elegance and simplicity yet in every sense radiates class and luxury.  

Try pairing it with neutrals and icy shades or matching with bold and acidic colours.  The key with camel is to think tone on tone, texture on texture and colour on colour.  Tonal accessories and luxe finishes fit perfectly!  It is a colour that suits just about any anyone (so no excuses!) and does not drown your complexion like mustard.   Don’t be afraid to wear more than one tone of camel a mixture of tan, caramel, beige or rust can look equally stylish.  Although if it is just one item you are going to invest in, a camel coat is a definite must! 

It is an instant way to update your wardrobe for this season.  First seen on the streets of Paris and Milan during fashion week, grabbing yourself an affordable camel coat will no longer give you the hump!!The great thing about this coat is that it can adapt to your everyday outfit from business wear to casual chic.   It is a coat that can be worn over anything and whether you splashed the cash on a burberry trench or  just nipped to your nearest primark, you cannot fail to be noticed with it’s expensive look.  This timeless staple also comes in a variety of styles.  Some may say that the double-breasted or military style is the most trendy choice but you can also choose from a straight cut, classic crombie or a dressing gown shape, the list is endless.

There are many Key colours that suit the colour camel & each produce a very different look...

For a red hot combo choose pillar box red to partner with your camel coat.  A lady seen in red is always the centre of attention.

Following the Equestrian Trend, the camel coat will ensure that you don't fall at the first hurdle! Camel is a key colour in this heritage country styled theme.  

Winter's iciest shade WHITE is the perfect neutral for camel.  Cream, white & Champagne are all perfect for this honey hue creating a great monochromatic outfit.

Camel can also act as a brilliant alkaline to neutralise acidic colour such as lime green, fuchsia & acid orange.  For a low key expensive look, stick to block colour rather than patterns...

charlotte queen of charity shops.

So who agrees that vintage has become a tad too pricey these days? That's why me and the girls have turned to charity shops.  Charity shops have some fantastic one off finds... i am lucky enough to have a fair few in my Kentish home town.  Check out what i bought recently...I can't wait to find out what Nottingham has to offer!
